The Joan Reid Memorial Shield

The Joan Reid Memorial Shield is in honour of our late Grandmother who passed away with the love of Irish Dancing in her heart. Our 'Nanny' used to watch us at many competitions and have us show her our medals and trophies from any competition we went to. There were pictures all over her mantle piece!! The Joan Memorial Shield is the judges choice of 'best dancer of the day'. This will be presented at the end of the Primary competition.

The Scott Lisle Sportsmanship Award

The Scott Lisle Sportsmanship award is presented to a dancer in intermediate or open who is clearly loving their dancing. They may not be the best, but on and off the stage the judge has noticed how helpful and encouraging they are to other dancers. They try their hardest on the stage and keep everyone motivated to do their best.

The award is a reminder to all of us that winning isn’t everything. Sometimes in life, events happen that we cannot control. But with the love of dance, we have our friends and dance family to support us and make us smile when it might be very hard to do so. xx
