Leanne McGrath ADCRG

Leanne began dancing in 1993 at the age of 6 in an after school program. She continued her local, regional, national and international dancing career until she was 23 years old.  
In 1995, Leanne competed in her first Australia National Championships held in Sydney, receiving a recall medal.
In 1997, Leanne won her first ACT state solo championships. This championship is held annually in the winter, consisting of all championship dancers from the ACT/Queanbeyan region. Leanne went on to win 12 State Solo titles and numerous team titles in her career.
In 2001, Leanne was reigned the Australian National Champion for the first time. Leanne was the first ever female from the ACT to win this prestigious annual competition. During her career, Leanne won the  Championships four times.
In 2008, Leanne moved to New York.  Here she competed in the world circuit of competitions for two years.
Overseas, Leanne was ranked;
4th in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships,
5th in the North American Championships,
5th in the All Scotland Championships and
7th in the All Ireland Championships.
In the most prestigious event, The World Irish Dance Championships, Leanne received World Medals in 2009 and 2010. Only the top percentage of entries receives this medal at the competition. In the Championship, Leanne was ranked 14th and 17th respectively.
During her career Leanne competed in many countries, including; New Zealand, America, Scotland, Italy, England, Portugal, and of course Ireland.
Under Tuition of Lisa and Karen Petri, Leanne passed her TCRG (teacher’s exam) in November 2010, by An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha (Irish Dance Commission, Ireland). Leanne began teaching with the Petri School until returning home to Australia in 2011.
Leanne founded McGrath Irish Dance in September 2011. Since 2011, McGrath Irish Dance has many solo and team State Champions. Leanne's dancers continue to travel interstate for feiseanna, nationally and internationally for Championship events.
Leanne passed her ADRCG exam in 2016. Leanne is now actively adjudicating feiseanna worldwide.
